Partha Sarathi Paul

Associate Professor

"Hello, my name is Partha Sarathi Paul. I have been a PhD Scholar in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Durgapur, India since February 2014 and have completed my PhD finally on 2nd February 2021. After this I have worked as a Post-Doctoral Researcher in a Sponsored Research Project Position at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India till the end of December 2021. I also have worked in a Sponsored Research Project Position at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi in the capacity of a Research Assistant in between my thesis submission and its defense.

I completed my Master of Technology in Computer Science [M. Tech. (CS)] at Indian Statistical Institute, India, in the year of 2003. I earned my Master’s degree in Pure Mathematics in the year 2000 and a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Mathematics in 1998, both at the University of Calcutta, India. My areas of interest are in Mobile and Pervasive Networking Systems, Networking Systems and Their Applications, Disaster Management, and Human-Computer Interaction. My current research focuses on socio-mobile applications and mobile affective computing.

I have made research publications in eminent, SCI-indexed, peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Network and Computer Applications (Impact Factor: 5.570), Ad Hoc Networks (Impact Factor: 3.643), and Scientometrics (Impact Factor: 2.867). I have also published papers in premier conferences and Workshops, including MobileHCI, PerCom (WiP), MobiCom CHANTS, COMSNETS, etc. I have also published a few book chapters with different national/international publishers.

Before joining my PhD program in 2014, I was in the service of Teaching in Technical Institutions, had served three Institutions as Assistant Professor in Computer Science & Engineering for more than ten years.
