Biography and academic profile

Dr. Minakhi Rout is an associate professor in the School of Computer Engineering at KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, with over two decades of professional experience in academia and research. She holds a Ph.D. in Computational Finance from Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University, alongside an M.Tech and B.Tech in computer science engineering. Her primary research expertise spans machine learning, soft computing, and biomedical data analysis, culminating in over 80 published papers in reputed international journals and conferences. A dedicated academic mentor, Dr. Rout has successfully guided 7 Ph.D. scholars through their doctoral research while continuing to teach core computing disciplines and spearhead advancements in evolutionary computing.

As the Program Officer of NSS, I have actively engaged in impactful social outreach initiatives. Key highlights include: nCommunity Visits: Coordinated NSS visits to old age homes, orphanages, and local schools, fostering empathy, social responsibility, and student engagement with underserved communities. nSpecial Camp organized by NSS School of Computer Engineering — conducted for the first time in four years nPlantation Drive: Successfully planted 500 saplings across multiple locations including Biju Patnaik High School, Dutee Chand Stadium, Campus 25, and Kendriya Vidyalaya nAnti-Ragging Awareness Program: Conducted sensitization sessions for students to promote a safe and inclusive campus environment nWomen Safety and Empowerment Campaign: Organized in collaboration with KIIT Biotech, focusing on awareness and advocacy for gender equity
