Achievement of the Faculty
The Research Project division of the ICSSR awarded a research project titled “A study of different dialects implementation of Odia language for NEP compilation using Artificial Intelligence: Use Case for Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences” to the team of faculty members from School of Computer Engineering. The team consists of Dr. Manjusha Pandey, Project Director and Associate Professor at School of Computer Engineering, Dr. Siddharth Swarup Rautaray Co-Project Director and Associate Professor at School of Computer Engineering, Dr. S.N.Mishra Co-Project Director and Professor at KIIT School of Management This is the third project in a row from ICSSR bagged by the team.
KIIT-DU Congratulates Dr. Sushruta Mishra (PI, School of Computer Engineering), Dr. Hrudaya Kumar Tripathy (Co-PI, School of Computer Engineering) and Prof.(Dr.) Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty (Co-PI, School of Computer Applications) for receiving an International funding from R&D consultancy, Blumetra Solutions to execute a project “Automated Data Labeling and Modelling.”
Mr. Kunal Anand , Assistant Professor, School of Computer Engineering KIIT has been conferred with the “Best Paper Award” at the 7th International Conference on Information System Design and Intelligent Applications (INDIA – 2022) held at BVRIT HYDERABAD College of Engineering for Women, Hyderabad, India on 26th February 2022. He presented his research paper titled “Software Defect Prediction: An ML base Comprehensive Study”.
Dr. Chittaranjan Pradhan, Associate Professor, KIIT School of Computer Engineering has been conferred with the “Best Teacher Award” at the 3rd Universal Innovators Leadership Awards (UILA) – 2022 in association with International Conference on Innovative Computing & Communication (ICICC) – 2022 held at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, New Delhi on 19th February 2022. He achieved this honour by dint of his hard work and sheer display of appealing educational competence. The jury members selected Dr. Pradhan as the topmost candidate due to his qualitative and quantitative contributions to teaching and refining the sustainable base of learning. UILA honours the determined efforts and achievements of change makers who have made their performance and innovative excellence in their respective fields. It also provides participants with an ideal opportunity to make their work visible to a wider audience.
Mr. Biswaranjan Acharya from School of Computer Engineering, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), along with his team, has come up with a unique and cost-effective device that claims to tackle anxiety in its users. The device is equipped with left and right ultrasonic sensors, a pre-recorded voice generated unit, a visual sensor, a vibration sensor, a power backup facility and a microcontroller-based processing unit.
The device is fitted with a variety of sensors, configured to collect vital real time health data from the body of the user to evaluate the health conditions. The device will monitor the mental health parameters of the person 24×7. In case of an emergency, it will immediately raise an alarm. It can be configured in such a manner that it sends an alarm to the nearby hospital for emergency support and informs his or her relatives.
Dr. Saurabh Bilgaiyan, Assistant Professor, School of computer engineering, was invited as a Keynote Speaker and Panel Judge by the International Society of Teachers, Administrators and Researchers, Inc. (ISTAR), Thailand, for the International Educators’ Conclave on Scientific Research and Innovation Studies (cum Demonstration Teaching). The conference was on the theme of Scientific Research and Innovation Studies in a Changing Landscape: New Paradigms, Pathways and Possibilities on 26 February 2022. He gave his talk on the topic Future Research Directions in Software Engineering. He also chaired a session for the conference paper presentations.
