Aleena Swetapadma

Associate Professor

Aleena Swetapadma started her career as assistant professor in School of Computer Engineering, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University, Bhubaneswar, India from 2016. She did her school education (6th to 12th) with scholarship from Govt. of India in JNV, Cuttack, India. She did her B. Tech from CET, Bhubaneswar, India and M. Tech in computer technology from NIT, Raipur, India. She obtained her Ph. D from NIT, Raipur, India in the area of application of artificial intelligence in power system protection. She has been awarded with POSOCO Power System Award for her work of M.Tech thesis by power grid of India (PGCIL) INDIA in partnership with FITT, IIT, Delhi 2nd rank in India, with Rs. 30,000/- and Citation in 2014. She did her Ph.D from NIT, Raipur (2013-2016). She has been awarded with POSOCO Power System Award for her work of Ph.D thesis by power grid of India (PGCIL) INDIA, 9th rank in India, with Rs. 60,000/- and Citation in 2017. She has completed one research project funded by science and engineering board (SERB), India of 16.5Lakhs entitled “Intelligent Fault Distance Estimation Scheme for High Voltage AC and High Voltage DC Transmission Lines: A Comparative Study of Various Artificial Intelligent Techniques to Explore a Suitable Scheme”. She has published 30 SCI indexed research papers under publishers like IEEE transactions, Elsevier, Springer, IET, Taylor and Francis etc. She has filed 3 patents of her work on transmission line fault location under IPR, India. She has also published 35 conference papers, 6 book chapters and one book. She is also serving as reviewer of various IEEE transactions, Elsevier, Springer, IET, Taylor and Francis journals. Her field of interest includes power system protection, HVDC, FACTS, biomedical signal and image processing, data mining and artificial intelligence application.
